Monday April 24 th Around 1200 Irish volunteers gathered at Liberty hall shortly after ten o’clock. The first shots were shot from Dublin Castle just before noon. Then at noon the group of volunteers took over the GPO and Patrick Pearse read the Proclamation of the Irish Republic.

The Leaders Patric k Pearse, James Connolly, Thomas Clarke, Sean Mac Dermott, Joseph Mary Plunkett, Eamonn Ceannt, and Thomas MacDonagh were the leaders of the rising and were executed at the end of the rising

The Important Buildings of the rising The rebel headquarter was held at the GPO Elsewhere, rebel forces took up positions at the Four Courts, the centre of the Irish legal establishment, at Jacob's Biscuit Factory and Boland's Mill.
