Vision We aim to provide quality leisure and cultural services commensurate with Hong Kong's development as a world- class city and events capital.

Mission Enrich life by providing quality leisure and cultural services for all (including senior citizens). Promote professionalism and excellence in leisure pursuits and cultural services.

Promote synergy with sports, cultural and community organizations in enhancing the development of the arts and sport in the territory. Preserve cultural heritage. Beautify the environment through tree planting.

Pledges Performing Arts We pledge to provide civic centre facilities, cultural and entertainment programmes to promote the development and appreciation of performing and visual arts.

Library Services We pledge to provide a courteous and efficient service to all users in meeting community needs for information, informal education and the profitable use of leisure.

Heritage and Museum Services We pledge to preserve local cultural heritage and to promote appreciation for it by providing and developing museum and related services. We will focus our efforts to preserve and conserve antiquities and monuments and to promote heritage education to foster a sense of belonging for the people.

Leisure Services We pledge to provide facilities to foster public participation in recreation and sports activities. We will organize a wide range of programmes to enrich the quality of life. We will provide, manage and maintain safe and high quality recreation and sports facilities for the general public.

Cultural Presentations Concessionary ticketing schemes are provided to senior citizens to ensure that they can have a chance to see the high quality performances at affordable prices.

Outreach activities aimed at making the arts more accessible to the community are organised under the Cultural Ambassador Scheme with activities taking place at parks, community centres, and homes for the elderly. Community Audience-building Programmes

Public Library Free for Cloakroom Services for persons aged 60 or above. Provide useful community information for the senior citizens. Concessionary ticketing schemes are provided to senior citizens. Heritage and Museum

Green HK Campaign Outreach promotional programmes, including horticultural talks and demonstrations are introduced to voluntary agencies. Volunteers in the Green HK Ambassadors Scheme to perform simple horticulture maintenance in parks and serving as stewards in greening promotion activities.

Community Recreation and Sports Programmes We organised 28,000 community recreation and sports activities for participants of all ages including more than 10% are free programmes designed for senior citizens. Concessionary entry fees are offered to senior citizens for ordinary programmes.

Healthy Exercise for All To enhance public interest in sports activities and encourage the public including senior citizens to pursue a healthy lifestyle through regular physical exercise Fitness programmes for senior citizens are designed to promote the campaign's message: Daily exercise keeps us fit, People of all ages Can do it.

Healthy Elderly Scheme Elderly Ambassadors are invited to assist as sports leaders Vacant facilities provided by sports centres are set aside for practice sessions Sports equipments are to be provided

Free-Use Scheme Free-Use Scheme The Scheme aims to maximise usage of recreational facilities by allowing eligible organisations to use the main arena and activity rooms of all sports centres, squash courts, hockey pitches, outdoor bowling greens and obstacle golf courses free of charge during non- peak hours.
