The Grevy zebra is named after former French president Jules Grevy's.

The Grevys zebra lives in some of these habitats; grassland, savannas, woodland, mountains, scrubland, and coastal hills.

The zebra is an herbivore. Here are some of the zebra’s predators; lions, hyenas, hunting dogs, leopards, and cheetahs.

Zebras communicate through sniffing, and balking positions through ears and tail.

Zebra mares are pregnant for 11 to 12 months. Zebras usually give birth over night.

Plain zebras are social animals, although they may live alone they usually form bachelor groups and small families of animals including dominant male mares and off spring. These zebras can either be sedentary or migratory. Their life style is dependent on the availability of food.

On average a zebra in the wild lives 25 years. Zebras belong to the horse family. A zebra can run up to 35 miles per hour. A zebra’s night vision is as good as an owl’s. Zebras stand when they’re sleeping. Zebras groom each other. Underneath the zebra’s hair the zebras skin is black. There are 3 species of zebras mountain plain and Grevys. A baby zebra is called a foal.
