THE CRITTER BARN

The KEY to having an educational farm is engaging your visitors and students in the care of the animals.

SHEEP Sheep have been raised at our farm for twenty six years. The sheep are exposed to visitors at an early age. We teach appropriate behavior, as ewes are protective, and sheep perceive us as predators.

more SHEEP Sheep are creatures of habit and motivated by food. Our barn is separate from our pasture, so a daily routine is running the sheep to the pasture. It is a great event, and guests may walk with the sheep in the pasture after they arrive.

more SHEEP Three breeds are raised for comparison purposes: Romney, Suffolk and Colored Corriedale. Students are taught how to restrain a lamb.

Thank you
