Lizards Lizards have four limbs and external ears, snakes don’t have these characteristics. Lizards and snakes share a movable bone, distinguishing them from the sphenodonts, which have a more primitive and solid skull. Many lizards can detach their tails in order to escape from predators, an act called autonomy, but this trait is not common. Vision, including color vision, is particularly well developed in most lizards, and most communicate with body language or bright colors on their bodies. There are many different types of lizards. There is about 4796 species of lizards. I think lizards are really cool and I hope you do too!
