Building Mountains What are the four types of mountains? –Fault Block mountains –Folded mountains –Upwarped mountains –Volcanic mountains You will be given clay, do not play with it until you are instructed to do so

Fault-Block Mountains Made of huge, tilted blocks of rock that are separated from surrounding rock by faults What type of force is at work in these ranges? –Pulling force What are some ranges that have been formed this way? –Sierra Nevada, CA –Teton Range, WY
