South East Scotland Academies Partnership Aims of the Academies Raise aspirations and attainment levels of young people in S5 and S6 in South East Scotland Widen participation of young people residing in MD20/40 areas within South East Scotland into Further and Higher Education Provide flexible learning opportunities to study in college and university while still at school Smooth the transition between school, college, university and the workplace by developing independent learning Develop transferable skills to support progression to Higher education or work-based learning

South East Scotland Academies Partnership Aims of the Academies (continued) Support advanced entry into year 2 of Higher Education, thus shortening the learner journey Provide opportunities to develop the attributes and capabilities which underpin the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence Support economic development in the target growth industries Provide young people with industry related skills to fill the skills shortage as identified by employers
