Assigning Materials Materials are assigned per component of wall Materials are assigned from the list of materials included in the Material Definitions folder of the Style Manager. Materials can be imported and assigned to display components using the Materials tool of Design palette. Materials can be imported in the Style Manager from the Material Definitions (Imperial).dwg or Material Definitions (Metric).dwg of the Imperial and Metric folders in C:\ Documents & Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ACA 2010\enu\Styles directory. The material definitions are located in the Multi-Purpose Objects folder of the Material Definition (Imperial).dwg file.

Procedure to Assign Material Definitions to a Wall Component Copy a material definition from the Material Definitions (Imperial) file in the Style Manager. Paste the material definition into the current drawing. Assign the material definition to the wall component in the Materials tab of the Wall Style Properties dialog box.

Using the Material Tool 1.Right-click the Material tool of the Design palette to open the Tool Properties dialog. 2.Specify a material definition for the Material tool. Click OK to dismiss the dialog box. 3.Select the Material tool and respond to the workspace prompts as follows: Select a component or an object: (Move the cursor over a component to display the component name.) Apply the material to the style or [this Object]: (Press ENTER to assign the material definition in the style.)

Copy and Assign Style Select a wall choose Save As from the Wall tab or Select a wall, right click and choose Copy Wall Style and Assign Style Command creates a copy of the wall style and assigns the new style to the wall selected. The command opens the Wall Style Properties dialog box allowing you to specify a new name and other style properties.

Wall Modifier Properties Modifier Styles- drop-down list shows defined wall modifier styles that have been created in the drawing. Component Name- drop-down list show the wall components of the selected wall Apply To drop-down list allows the wall modifier style to be applied to the Left, Right, or Both Faces of the wall Start Position Offset edit box allows you to set the position horizontally from the wall start, wall end or wall midpoint. Start Elevation Offset distance and the from list allows the distance to be defined from the wall top, wall base height, wall baseline, or wall bottom.

Accessing Sweep

Create a Profile Definition to Form a Wall Select a closed polyline at p1, right click choose Convert to > Profile Definition Insertion point or [Add ring/Centroid]: (Specify point at p2.) Profile Definition [New/Existing] : (Press ENTER to open the New Profile Definition.)

Creating a Sweep Open a drawing that consists of an AecProfile Select a wall and choose Sweeps>Add from the Modify panel. Edit the Add Wall Sweep dialog box, specify the wall component and profile definition, and check Apply Roof/Floor Lines to Sweep and Miter Selected Walls.

Select the construct of the 1st floor, right click and choose Copy Construct to Levels. Assign new construct for the 2nd floor construct to level 2 Create a view drawing for each construct Create a model view drawing which includes construct drawings for levels 1 and 2 Process ensures vertical alignment of floors in the model view

Using a Common Baseline Location for Levels Define wall components for each level based upon a common baseline location for each level as shown above. RoofLine and FloorLine commands can be used to cover the floor systems in the model view

Steps to Plotting-1 1.Copy an Aec Sheet template from Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ACA 2010\enu\Template {Vista - ProgramData\Autodesk\ACA 2010\enu\Template} folder to the project folder. 2. Open the Project Navigator and select the Sheets tab. Select the Sheet Set View toggle, shown at left, to display the Sheet Set View. 3. Select the project sheet set icon as shown at p1, right-click, and choose Properties to open the Sheet Set Properties dialog box.

4. To specify a template file for storage of page setup overrides, click in the right margin of the Page setup override file field to display the Browse button p1, shown at left. Navigate to your current student project folder and choose the sheet template file that was copied to this folder as described in Step To specify the Sheet creation template, click the Browse button shown at p2 to open the Select Layout as Sheet Template dialog box. Select the Browse button shown at p3 to open the Select Drawing dialog box and select an Aec Sheet template with layouts. The layouts included in the template will be listed in the Select Layout as Sheet Template dialog box. Select a layout from the list and click OK to dismiss the Select Layout as Sheet Template dialog box. Steps for Plotting-2

Steps for Plotting-3 6. Click OK to dismiss the Sheet Set Properties dialog box. If the layout chosen constitutes a change, the Confirm Changes dialog opens. Choose Yes to apply this change to all subsets of the sheet set. 7. To create a new sheet expand Architectural, select the Plans subset, right-click, and choose New > Sheet. The New Sheet dialog box opens as shown at right, which allows you to specify a sheet number and name. Click OK to dismiss the dialog box.
