Plastic bags – did you know? Most plastic bags are only used for 5 minutes but Most plastic bags are only used for 5 minutes but some can take up to 500 years to decompose (that means rot away) People in Britain and other countries around the world throw away billions of bags every year. Plastic bags take up lots of room in landfill sites.

Some rubbish is blown by the wind and it ends up in trees, streets, parks, gardens and schools, including Holy Cross!

It looks ugly!

We are polluting our world! We are global citizens. Our actions have consequences for the whole world!

We think dolphins are beautiful creatures! We were sad to see this one with a plastic bag stuck to its fin.

One more reason… We have all heard how greenhouse gases cause global warming. Plastic bags give off greenhouses gases when they are being made and we they are decomposing.
