Vocabulary Lesson 1: 1.Public opinion-The point of view held by the majority of people. 2.Independence-The freedom to govern on one’s own. 3.Allegiance-loyalty. 4.Resolution-A formal statement of the feelings of a group of people about an important topic. 5.Preamble-An introduction; first part. 6.Grievance-A complaint.

Vocabulary Lesson 2: 1.Patriot-A colonist who was against the British rules and supported the rebel cause in the America Colonies. 2.Loyalist-A person who supported the British government during the America Revolution. 3.Neutral-Not taking a side in the disagreement. 4.Pacifist-A believer in the peaceful settlement of difference. 5.Regiment-A large, organize group of soldiers.
