Webinar Objectives Present and orientation to the GIW and its relationship to the CoC Program Competition Provide an overview of the Grants Inventory Worksheet (GIW) confirmation process Present instruction for completing the FY2015 GIW Confirmation survey and process Discuss the FY2015 project change options Answer any outstanding questions ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

What is the GIW? Each year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) releases the GIW, which includes: -An inventory of all CoC-funded projects in a CoC that are eligible for renewal -Details about the current contracts (budget amounts, unit configuration, etc.) -Solicitation of information about the proposed contract for the upcoming fiscal year ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

Each year, the total amount of the renewal projects listed in the GIW is used to determine the CoC’s Annual Renewal Demand (ARD). ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

GIW’s Relationship to the CoC Program Competition It is the first official step in the CoC Program Competition Used to calculate the ARD, which is the amount for which a CoC is allowed to apply Projects omitted from the GIW are not allowed to apply for renewal funding by the Chicago CoC Closely followed by the Competition Registration Notice and Notice of Funding Availability ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

FY2015 GIW Confirmation Process Each year, CoCs are required to verify that the GIW includes ALL projects that are eligible for renewal and that the contract information is accurate Agencies are required to review and verify that all their CoC-funded projects are included fully and accurately in the GIW A FY2015 GIW Confirmation survey must be completed by agencies for each CoC-funded project no later than 5PM on Thursday, February 12, Projects not included on the GIW are not allowed to apply for renewal funding by the Chicago CoC ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

The FY2012 GIW Confirmation Survey can be found at: A survey must be completed for each project no later than 5PM on Thursday, February 12 th Thursday, February 12, 2015

Each question on the survey directly relates to a section & column on the GIW. For each question, verify whether the information in the GIW is accurate. If the data is incorrect or blank, answer NO and provide the correct information in the field provided. ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

For some questions, a NO response or any changes require the agency to attach a copy of a HUD amendment approval letter. To attach the letter: 1.Click the “Browse” button 2.Select the file 3.Click on the “CLICK HER TO UPLOAD FILE” button Attaching a HUD Amendment Approval Letter ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

Projects that are renewing for the first time under the CoC Program can transition from Leasing to Rental Assistance. PLEASE NOTE: This does NOT apply to most of the Chicago CoC projects. If you wish to convert and feel your project is eligible, please contact immediately to receive further guidance. Converting from Leasing to Rental Assistance ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

Program Component Changes There are only two scenarios where a project that is categorized incorrectly may have the component changed, including: 1.Projects with a Supportive Service line item and no housing (Rental Assistance or Leasing) costs (see page 6 of the Instruction Manual for details) Transitional Housing (TH) Renewal Projects that currently have characteristics of Rapid Re-Housing project (see page 7 of the Instruction Manual for details) If your agency wishes to pursue a component change, please contact immediately for further guidance. ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **

Rental Assistance Technical Fix The HEARTH Act did not permit nonprofit organizations to administer rental assistance Nonprofit organizations are allowed to administer rental assistance for FY2015 grants. ** GIW Confirmation Survey is Due at 5PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 **
