Hallway Behavior

What does CATS look like in the hallway? Walk safely on the right side through the hallways. Keep your hands and feet, and other objects to yourself, as well as off the walls and bulletin boards. Walk in a single file on the red line and stop at corners until the teacher gives the direction to go on. While waiting during bathroom breaks, students may talk at a voice level 1. When the teacher asks the class to move to the red line, the voice level should be at level 0.

What does CATS look like in the hallway? Treat others with dignity, respect, and courtesy. If a staff member asks a student to correct his/her behavior the student will do as asked. Students go directly to designated areas upon arrival to or departure from school and upon leaving classroom or dismissal from class. Students will do their part to keep the hallways clean.

Cafeteria Behavior

What does CATS look like in the cafeteria? Walk to and from the cafeteria using level one (quiet) voice. Wait patiently in a single file line. Have money and lunch code ready. Walk with your tray directly to your table. While in cafeteria use level two (conversational) voice volume. Be courteous to staff and other students. Respect each other’s space by keeping hands to yourself.

What does CATS look like in the cafeteria?, cont’d Remain in cafeteria, SEATED IN ASSIGNED AREA, until dismissed. Clean your area of food and trash by placing trash in trash can. Food and drink, except water, must remain in cafeteria. Raise your hand and remain seated if you need help from an adult.

Restroom Behavior

What does CATS look like in the restrooms? Use Level 1 (whisper) voice. Follow directions of adults. One person per stall. Be considerate of other’s privacy. Be patient. Respect facilities -- Keep restroom clean. Always wash hands before exiting. Return to hallway/class promptly.

What does CATS look like during assemblies? Listen and follow adult directions at all times. Enter and exit quietly while reporting to assigned areas. Focus on the presentation and give your full attention. Voice level should remain at 0. Clap and respond when appropriate. Sit facing forward in an upright position, keeping your hands and feet to yourself. Be supportive of our school in a positive manner.

Gym & Assembly Behavior

Bus Behavior

What does CATS look like on the bus? Be on time to the bus stop. Follow directions of bus driver/monitors. Load and unload quietly and in a single file line. Use your level 2 (conversational) voice. Keep aisle ways clears of all objects. Do not use foul/inappropriate language. Remain seated with hands and head inside the bus at all times. Respect the property of and be courteous to fellow riders, the driver and other travelers.

What does CATS look like at bus wait? Report directly to the gym or cafeteria upon arrival. Keep buses clean and place trash in garbage cans/bags. During morning and afternoon bus wait sit on your bottom in your assigned spot. Keep your hands to yourself and use a level one voice during this time. Raise your hand and remain seated if you need help from an adult. When lining up to exit the gym/cafeteria gather your belongings and line up single file using a level 1 voice. While walking to the bus stay in a single file line with a level 1 voice.

Playground

What does CATS look like on the playground? Walk to and from the playground area. Use the playground equipment correctly. Keep your hands and feet to yourself while on the playground. Play well with others and be respectful to their classmates. Play in the designated areas of the playground.

What does CATS look like on the playground? If a student has permission from the teacher on duty to see the nurse or go to the bathroom the student must check in with that teacher when they return to the playground. When the teacher calls for recess to be over students will stop what they are doing and line up with their class.
