Primary Byte The net has over the years, rapidly turned into a hunting ground for prospective bride and grooms. One thing is to sure that internet is to stay pornography, junk e –mails, mis information through disguised web pages, abuse of intellectual property rights and non serious computer crimes not withstanding.

Love Really Rocks The Digital Age Sending e –mails and e –cards to friends and loved ones is a far more popular activity than e –commerce. Internet has changed the basic mental approach of the generation from a traditional view to liberal point.

Desi Love In Times Of Bits And Nicks The possibilities for what the internet can be used are endless however, despite its technological marvels, the internet is also used for something very basic : meeting other people in the hope of finding “The One”.

Pakistani Match Making Machine There are thousands of Pakistanis who are casual chatters “a proud product of Pakistan’s IT revolution”. Statistics show that Pakistanis form the largest communities that indulge in online relationships

Desi Love On Internet Our world seems to be revolutionized by the commence of internet. Thanks to the fashion and wedding channel of Apna genre of websites like apnakarchi.com, one cant even have difficulty to find from a match to shaadi hall even beauty parlors to honeymoon tour agencies.

Internet Survey From dreammates.com Dreammates.com have total of 45,000+ Pakistani visitors. Pakistan as a country represents the sixth largest number of users. Following are the preferences Pakistani users mostly look for :

What drives you to send a message to someone? Photo % Headline\ Subject line % Description of themselves % Description of their potential mate 8.04 % Sincerity 4.46 %

Approximately how long did it take you to meet someone before you wanted to pursue a relationship with them? Less than seven days % Eight to twenty-one days 7.14 % Twenty-two days 3.57 % Still looking for that special one %

When you meet or met someone you are interested in what will /did you do get to know them better? Talk to them on the phone % Meet them in person % Continue e –mailing them until I am sure % Non of the above 5.36 %

Religion of the visitors who found the sample for the survey? Muslims % Christian 2.68 % Hindu 0.89 % Others 8.93 %

LAST BYTE The youth’s excessive indulgence in casual dating, chatting & match making can be attributed to several factors. Our younger generation bears a lot of social pressure. Conservative environment restricts recreational opportunities and most people cannot indulge in anything beyond weekend trips to fast-food joints. It has to realize that the people you meet on the internet cannot be trusted right away.

There are things for which we care about while making any online relation. 1.Don’t give out photograph to strangers. 2.Beware of whom you chat to (may not be telling you the truth). 3.Don’t give out your personal information. 4.If going to meet for the very first time with any stranger use public meeting places only. 5.Never respond to messages or bulletin board items that are suggestive, obscene, belligerent, threatening or making you feel un-comfortable. 6. Avoid “NICKS” that can reveal your identity. 7. Never give out your address to any site.

A romantic relationship on the internet alone can be based either on limited information about the partners (Generally only those aspects of his/her personality that are shared willingly). The final responsibility again lies in the hands of the user of technology. Casual chatters and mis-chief mongers who are in a habit of making pretentious relations over the web are as wrong there counter-parts in the real world. Deceiving someone, be it in the real or in the virtual world is a crime. The technology is hear to stay and has by far infiltrated too much to be stopped.
