Who We Are:A Bit of History:We Want You! Thank you! Thanks for considering attending this year’s MBA games weekend! Whether your school is a first time participant, coming back after a short hiatus, or a longtime consecutive representative, we’re excited to have you think about coming to Durham this year! This is the 27 th year of the MBA Games Weekend. Fuqua is honored to host you again this year, and look forward to yet another successful games, in large part due to the continued dedication of people like you! This document will provide some information on the history of the games, what to expect, what’s required and fundraising requests/expectations. That being said, don’t hesitate to contact us should you have questions or concerns not answered here. Also, if you are a returning participant from last year’s games, any suggestions on how to improve the weekend this year are welcomed! History of MBA Games In 1989, a group of Fuqua students decided to invite their friends from other top b-schools to Durham to enjoy the warm spring weather while raising money for Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC). Since then, the Duke MBA Games has evolved into the largest student run event on campus, and has raised over $2.2 million! MBA Games Weekend Every year, teams from top MBA programs across the country come to Durham to compete in a weekend of fun events alongside amazing Special Olympics athletes. You will have fun, network with other students, and most importantly, be inspired and leave Duke with memories that will last a lifetime! What Makes Us Unique MBA Games is the only organization of its kind among B-schools, and we are proud to have it as part of our Fuqua tradition. We hope that you will join us in supporting the great work of SONC and celebrating the amazing athletes!! Tell Me When It Is Already!: April 17 th – 19 th, 2015 For more information, please contact Rachael Exon, Stephanie Yu, Emilie McKenna or Caroline Hoch

Weekend Description:Fundraising and Costs:We’re Coming – Tell Us More! Last Year’s Weekend Funds 2014 Weekend raised over $75,000; combined with other events, over $100,000 in total. Help us raise over $125,000 in 2014! Fundraising Requirements Each team is asked to raise $3,000 to compete in the MBA Games Weekend. 100% of these funds will be donated to SONC. All funds raised will be awarded points towards your total weekend score – the more you raise, the closer you will be to the MBA Games Championship! Costs You will only be responsible for the costs of transportation to Durham (plane, train, automobile, rickshaw, segway...). We will house you, feed you, and provide all transportation during the weekend. Fundraising Ideas We can send a list of ideas to help you raise money. The list of fundraising ideas is endless! We just encourage you to get as many of your classmates involved in MBA Games and excited about supporting Special Olympics! Events It’s simple – the team with the most points wins the MBA Games Weekend! Bragging rights start almost immediately upon signing up as the events for the weekend include: - Highest fundraising total - Tug of War - Business Suit Relay - And more! The events are a mixture of MBA team competitions, SONC athlete only events, and joint events between the schools and the athletes. While school pride is important, we promise the interaction with the athletes, and the money raised for an outstanding cause will be the most fulfilling reward. More than Just the Games In addition to the Games, participants will partake in the following: - Welcome Ceremony & dance–off - Pool parties - Closing theme party (TBD) - Golf tournament (optional) Arrival Most participants arrive on Friday. However, if you're interested in a Thursday night social event or playing a round of golf on Duke's outstanding Washington Duke Golf Course, please arrive in Durham on Thursday night. Transportation from the airport (RDU) will be provided and coordinated between team captains and our Team Liaisons. Team Liaison Each team will be assigned at least 1 Fuqua student to serve as their Liaison. This student will meet you upon arrival, bring you to your apartment, and be the point of contact for the Games. Think of it as free butler service! Weekend Accommodations Teams will stay at local apartment complexes (FOR FREE!) close to campus and all weekend events. Departure The final event is Saturday Night (banquet and night out), so plan to leave anytime on Sunday. We will provide transportation for your team to the airport. For more information, please contact Rachael Exon, Stephanie Yu, Emilie McKenna or Caroline Hoch
