 Service on the Great Lakes will be credited day for day and Inland waters up to 50% of the total required service regardless of individual section provisions. COMMON CHANGES NC ENDORSEMENTS SEA SERVICE REQUIREMENTS  Experience gained in the engine department on vessels of appropriate tonnage may creditable for up to 90 days of the service requirements for Master OC/NC < 200 & Master NC < 100. This hasn’t changed for Mate. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY ON 03/24/14

 FR adds, if more than 75% of the qualifying experience is obtained on vessels of 5 GRT or less, MMC will be limited to <25 GRT. COMMON CHANGES NC ENDORSEMENTS TONNAGE CALCULATIONS  Recalculation due to the addition of the 75%. This changes the figures at the 50 GRT & 25 GRT.  No More 150 GRT Limitation. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY ON 03/24/14

 We will continue to renew all Master/Mate 200 GRT or less with STCW II/3 issued with BT only UNTIL 01/01/17. To be valid and/or renewed AFTER 01/01/17, the mariner must provide evidence of Leadership and Managerial Skills (Master) or Leadership and Team working Skills (OICNW). The competencies in BT will be required as well.
