The right equipment for a healthier generation.

To dedicate ourselves to the health and wellbeing of our students OObesity is a growing problem among children around the country. WWith increasing sedentary lifestyles and poor physical fitness, The risk for debilitating disease and poor health conditions are likely to overcome the population. HHowever, there is hope within our schools to educate and motivate students to become healthier through enriching experiences and quality physical education instruction. TTo educate the youth, we as educators must be prepared as possible with the right tools to lead the change for a healthier generation.

What Aspect of fitness is the most critical?  One major physical fitness component that needs to be addressed in schools today is cardiovascular activity.  Cardiovascular activity is any activity that sustains a raised heart rate for a certain period of time.  This type of activity uses the entire body and is one of the most effective ways to increase the physical fitness level in students.

 Pedometers are devices the attach to a users waist and keep a running count of how many steps they have taken in a particular session.  Simple and effective way to measure the distance walked each day, and measure their fitness levels.  Durable and inexpensive  Can help to motivate students to set “step” goals.  More Information HereHere

And the information is unbiased and useful.  The website can be used to address all aspects of wellness in a persons life. From tracking physical activity, to tracking food intake, and make food recommendations based on the persons height weight and lifestyle.

 The rise of disease and sickness is on the rise and the average age affected by long term illnesses is slowly getting younger and younger.  Physical educators now more than ever have a responsibility to unhold the youth to a highier standard and instill the values and motivation to live a long and healthy life  Participating in physical activity daily.

 The cost of equipment is not near the price our students are going to pay when they are not physically healthy.  With the proper tools at our disposal, physical educators can protect and the instill the value of physical fitness and provide a solution to the growing problem.
