College of Education 103 Conference Room The Multimedia Podium

The Projector Locate the projector in the middle of the room. power button

The Screen Locate the screen on the front wall. Notice the Power Button towards the left of the picture. How to work the Screen Power Button:  Push up to raise  Push down to lower  Set to the middle to stop

The Screen If the screen is not already in the down position, power the screen down. Screen in down position

Power to the Podium Due to the highly technical and sensitive nature of the multimedia podium, it must be powered on in a specific way. See next page for specific instructions.  Please note: The order in which the switches are flipped is different depending on whether you are powering on or powering off.

Power to the Podium When powering ON, the red switch on top is to be turned on first and the red switch on bottom is to be turned on second. When powering OFF, the red switch on bottom is to be turned off first, and the red switch on top is to be turned off second. Remember, following these instructions are very important to the operation of the multimedia equipment contained in the podium. Please, be sure this is done properly. The Volume Controls To adjust the volume to:  The computer  The DVD/VCR  The hand mic  The lapel mic Only adjust those knobs that are labeled Handheld & Lapel Mic Volume Control Computer Volume DVD/VCR Volume

The Podium Remotes The Computer Button switches to the PC Desktop. The Video Button switches to DVD/VCR. Turn off the projector by pushing the On/Off Button on the projector remote. Computer Button Projector RemoteDVD/VCR Remote Power Buttons Video Button

The Projection Image Once the projector has been powered on by pressing the On/Off Button (on either the remote or the projector), notice its power up screen.

Projecting Desktop Image To display the computer’s desktop onto the projection image, press the Computer Button on the projector remote.  Notice the lower left hand corner of the projection screen says “computer 1.”  NOTE: It is important to make sure the first button on the AV Switch is selected. The Document Camera To display an image from the document camera, press the Video Button on the projector remote. Turn on the Document Camera by pressing the power button. Note:  You may move the head of the camera to preferred angle.  You may turn on the backlight to easily display transparencies and the like in the dark.  NOTE: It is important to make sure the first button on the AV Switch is selected. Projecting DVD/VCR Image To display a video from the DVD/VCR, press the Video Button on the projector remote. Locate the DVD/VCR. Insert the media. Push play on the DVD/VCR remote or on the player.  NOTE: It is important to make sure the second button on the AV Switch is selected. DVD/VCR Remote Eject Buttons

Turning It Off When finished, turn off the projector. First, push the On/Off Button on the projector remote. Notice in the lower left corner of the projection screen “Power off?” will appear. Push the On/Off Button one more time. This turns the projector off. Projector Remote

Turning It Off Now, shut down the computer. Go to start (a), click on Shut Down (b), then from the drop down menu, choose Shut down (c) and press OK (d). a b c d

Turning It Off Next place remotes back where they were. Roll the projection screen back up. Turn off the Power Buttons on the podium in the correct order. Place everything else back in order. Turn off the lights. Lock the door.
