 Start by inserting tape into tape deck.  Hit the digitize button.digitize button  In the Edit Suite menu, switch from program to digitize.Edit Suite menu  Fill reel name into text box. Usually one word.  Audio channels: One is for interviews. Two is for natural sound. Check audio box that applies to your clip. Main MenuTitleSite MapHelp

 Play tape.  Pause after useable clip in order to name.  Rewind to clip beginning.  Hit “Play” on tape deck and “Start” in digitize window.  After shot change hit “Stop”.  Clip is automatically added to the bin!  Repeat steps for like clips. Main MenuTitleSite MapHelp

 The tape has played past all recorded video. Time code does not advance past last video recorded.  Stop and rewind to tape beginning or until time code returns to fix problem. Main MenuTitleSite MapHelp

 The speakers must be powered on and turned up.  The tape deck is either playing or paused. The deck must be in stop.  “Edit Master” button must be pressed. Main MenuTitleSite MapHelp

 Use voice booth to record voice to tape.  Put tape in tape deck.  Put Media 100 into digitize mode.  Digitize channel #1 only.  From bin, drag audio clip to timeline. Main MenuTitleHow do I addSite MapHelp

 Use only MP3 files or audio disks.  Flash drives and CDs: Have Media 100 open. Connect flash drive or insert disk. Wait for desktop icon to appear. Open icon. Find file. Drag and drop file into Media 100 bin. Find file Click “OK”. Find assigned folder on external hard drive, click “Convert”.  From flash drives and CDs: Have Media 100 open. Connect flash drive or insert disk. Wait for desktop icon to appear. Open icon. Drag file(s) from CD/flash drive to assigned folder on external hard drive. Files are now on the hard drive. Eject drives. In Media 100, select “Tools” menu, then “Make New Title” and it will make a new title on timeline. Main MenuTitleHow do I addSite MapHelp

 Double click the newly added title.  Click “Edit” button on Edit Suite window.  The Titler program will then open.  On Titler timeline, select “Add Image Media” and the picture will appear in the title.  Scale as appropriate using “Controls” window.  Bottom right hand corner of Titler timeline, hit “Apply” button.  Then render project in the Edit Suite window.  Audio of clips being transitioned cannot be on the same channel. Audio of clips  Overlap appropriate amount of video/audio to cover transition. Overlap  Alternate clips in “A” or “B” tracks as needed for multiple transitions. Alternate  Once clips are overlapped, an arrow appears.  Insert the tape to be recorded onto and have it cued up where you want your video to record.  Select “Edit Master.”  Drag the play head cursor on the timeline to the very beginning.play head cursor  Press “Record” on tape deck. Wait a few seconds. Then play video (using space bar) on the computer.  Hit “Stop” on tape deck after video is completed. Main MenuTitleSite MapHelp
