The Beginning  AUBG library was founded in 1992 with the generous support of:  AUBG Board of Trustees  Melon Foundation  ASHA  Freedom Forum Foundation  Democratic and Free Bulgaria Foundation  Open Society  Sabre Foundation

The Mission  Supports the mission of AUBG;  Supports students’ education needs;  Enhances faculty teaching and research needs;  Serves as a model of modern library practice to the academic community in Bulgaria and the whole region.

The Collection  English-language library;  Books in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Russian, Slavic and other languages;  A small collection in Bulgarian;  A collection of materials about Bulgaria and the Balkans, translated into English  AUBG Professors’ Publications

The Numbers  100,000 monographs  37,000 electronic books  300 print periodical titles  18,000 electronic journals/15,000 unique  10,000 volumes of print back-run periodicals
