2 The Mission of the Library is to support education and research conducted at University and to provide integrated library and information services to its users including access to information on scientific achievements in Lithuania and world-wide. The Library seeks to assist students in their self-education and overall personal development The presentation is based on our personal experience. The Library is the part of the young, modern and dynamic University. The Library depend’s on University’s demands.

3 To improve the quality of services for all users, our Library aims to:
Create friendly and attractive informational, physical and emotional environment for our academic community Provide efficient services for all Library users To create a user- centred range of services for University students and staff to maintain a close understanding of their needs Provide maximum access to the Library, including admission to the Library building itself and online / off-line access to our electronic resources Promote the use of the Library as a learning and research tool Provide a tailored services for users with disabilities Encourage and support permanent qualification of the library staff

The collection of the library amounts to items (books, periodicals) About 12 thousands items are added annually E- resources: CD’s – 370 titles E- journals – E- books – (In DB) Databases – 52

6 Library Services Information services Borrowing items
Online ordering, renewal, reservation Readers consultation Ask the librarian Subject librarians Information skills’ training for 1st year students Online tutorial Reading rooms are open during the whole week and during Night Hours as well Reservation of Group study rooms Wireless Internet Remote access to subscribed full-text electronic databases Self-service printing/copying stations, scanners. The Library services are provided to all MRU community. 6

7 Open Night Hours It is specific service. The Main Library is opened on the Night Hours (from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.) throughout the school year (from the 10th on September till the 23th of June including weekends) and readers are consulted by library staff There are 155 working places (including 32 computerized). There are approximate 33, 600 items (books, periodicals) in the Library’s Reading Rooms Readers can use computer places, electronic resources, scanner, printers, and copy machines Readers can return borrowed items as well

8 Internet services. Wireless and Remote access
All Library reading rooms provide computerized workplaces (143) with internet access. Students may use their own laptops All Library locations offer free wireless internet access. Wireless network was formed within the EduRoam project. It allows the staff members and students of any participating institution use their own laptops with wireless cards and gives free access to the Internet Most of the Library electronic resources can be accessed through the local area network. Staff members and students may have off-campus access to subscription based Library resources (databases) through EZproxy connection

Electronic advertisement board Ask Question. The aim of this service is to provide prompt information about the Library, it’s holdings, services, electronic resources etc.  Readers ABC (FAQ) attempt’s to answer frequently asked questions about the Library and it’s services. Online tutorial Chat with us (Facebook, Skype, Twitter) us Traditional Services: Phone us Ask us Booklets
