Scriptures To Ponder Proverbs 6:20–23 - My son, observe the commandment of your father And do not forsake the teaching of your mother; Bind them continually on your heart; Tie them around your neck. When you walk about, they will guide you; When you sleep, they will watch over you; And when you awake, they will talk to you. For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life. Points To Ponder To our elderly brothers/sisters in Christ: To our elderly brothers/sisters in Christ: – You have much to give… namely wisdom, instruction, and encouragement. Cp. Tit. 2:1-3ff – “Sitting back” and letting “the younger” do the work will only perpetuate “the generation gap.”

Points To Ponder The rest of us younger Christians: The rest of us younger Christians: – Need to realize our older brethren have MUCH to contribute. – We simply need to take advantage of years of experience God has blessed them to impart.

Points To Practice To our young: To our young: – Go up and start conversations and let our older brethren know just how much they are appreciated in God’s work. – Initiate ways to encourage and honor our elderly brethren.

Points To Practice To our “Middle-Aged”: To our “Middle-Aged”: – Teach our young how to honor, respect, and bless our older brethren. – Provide opportunities and means to foster honor, respect, and blessings to our elderly brethren.
