4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

There is a call for Attitude 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children

“exasperate” means to provoke, irritate, frustrate or annoy greatly “exasperate” means to provoke, irritate, frustrate or annoy greatly

“You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance” Franklin P. Jones

Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. Colossians 3:21

Positive parents build relationships that bond, not come unglued.

1 Thessalonians 2:7,8 We were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. 8 We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.

1 Thessalonians 2:10-12 You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed. 11 For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, 12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.

The stronger the relationship with your child the more likely they will embrace your values and your beliefs. The weaker the relationship with your child the less likely they will embrace your values and your beliefs.

...instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. There is a call for Aptitude

Hebrews 12:5-7 - And you have forgotten that word of encourage- ment that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, Instruction Discipline Instruction Discipline

6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.” 7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? Instruction

As you call children to the target, model the target!

1 Corinthians 4:15-17 Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. 16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me.

17 For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

1.He takes time for me. 2. He listens to me. 3. He plays with me. 4. He invites me to go places with him. 5. He lets me help him. 1.He takes time for me. 2. He listens to me. 3. He plays with me. 4. He invites me to go places with him. 5. He lets me help him.
