BASICALLY a euphemism makes something sound better and a dysphemism makes something sound worse ( “stingy” ) ( “thrifty” ) YOO-fuh-mizum DIS-fuh-mizum

For example: “sanitary landfill” & “garbage dump” “pre-owned vehicle” & “used car”  Ridiculous Meter: 
