1936 Olympic Games: Jesse Owens Supporting education in Ethiopia

The 10 th Olympic games took place in Germany. Jesse Owens was a very fast runner. He came from America. He wanted to run in the Olympics and win a medal.

Supporting education in Ethiopia Adolf Hitler was the leader of Germany. He did not want Jesse to run. Hitler said that black people should not be allowed to do the same things as white people. He said black people were not good at sport like white people. Hitler Was this fair? How do you think Jesse felt when he heard what Hitler said? Have you ever been treated differently?

Supporting education in Ethiopia But Jesse was very brave. He ran in the Olympics anyway. He won four gold medals! Jesse surprised everyone. How was Jesse brave? Can you think of a time when you have been brave?
