Calendar of events Industrieforum The Fair Project Technical Systems Advertisement Trade Show Technology Transfer Introduction Based on the experience of the existing facility and after thorough discussion with the user community the Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung GmbH, GSI, proposed in 2001 a new international Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research FAIR. The basic ideas of the facility and the new possibilities offered by FAIR have been described in the Conceptual Design Report (CDR). The Data have been reviewed by international committees and were finally laid down in the FAIR Baseline Technical Design Report, FBTR, which was approved by the community as "the project description" for further going on.
