Text Structure: One Pager – Front Page “Forest Fire” by Anais Nin “The fire was like a dragon’s tongue over the horizon”” I can connect to this article because there was a fire near my home once. I remember when I heard the fire engines and seeing people evacuate Their homes. I was terrified that my home was going to burn to The ground. My parents grabbed all the important documents from Their office. I brought my pictures and my pet cat. “We must learn to love and appreciate nature in its beauty and its wrath.”

Text Structure: Sequencing / Chronological Author’s Purpose : To inform the reader about how devastating a forest fire can be; therefore, we must respect nature in both its beauty and danger. How does this text structure improve the author’s purpose? Anais Nin’s use of Chronological order in this essay helps the reader to visualize the sequence of Events of the California fire with suspenseful details in the order they occur. Back Page
