SIDS Platform for SCP within the 10YFP and the Sustainable Tourism Programme  In the outcome document of their interregional meeting, SIDS countries called for the “establishment of a SIDS specific support platform within the 10YFP with emphasis on small and medium enterprises, sustainable tourism, sustainable lifestyles and education for sustainable development…”  UNEP, as the 10YFP Secretariat, will support the development of such a platform, in close consultation with SIDS countries, with it’s initial functions to be launched at the Third International Conference on SIDS, in Samoa, 1-4 September. Call from SIDS countries for their own SCP Platform within the 10YFP

SIDS Platform for SCP within the 10YFP and the Sustainable Tourism Programme Objectives: What will a SIDS-specific platform for SCP within the 10YFP achieve? Facilitate the implementatio n of National SCP Action Plans Match the demand for SCP in SIDS with available financial resources Promote knowledge sharing through the Global SCP Clearinghouse Establish governance structure that gives power to SIDS partners
