MEETING TOPICS NCAA Clearinghouse Transition ACC Non-Qualifier Rule

NCAA Clearinghouse Transition The NCAA Clearinghouse will now be known as the NCAA Eligibility Center and will be housed in Indianapolis, IN at the NCAA Headquarters What will the NCAA Eligibility Center do?  Initial Eligibility Certification Academic; and Amateurism  Initial Eligibility Waivers  Core Course and High School Reviews  Customer Service

NCAA Clearinghouse Transition Transition Timeline  October 17, 2007 Begin sending all mail to NCAA Eligibility Center  October 22, 2007 All mail that was sent to the Clearinghouse will be forwarded to the Eligibility Center  October 24, 2007 Clearinghouse website will be SHUT DOWN – can still call  October 26, 2007 Phone lines will be transferred  October 29, 2007 Website will have limited operations  November 1, 2007 Website and Eligibility Center will be fully operational

NCAA Clearinghouse Transition What to keep in mind during the transition?  Wednesday October 24, 2007 through Thursday November 1, 2007 the Clearinghouse will be shut down and will NOT be processing any new information  Will not be able to access for official visit information. Have all prospects that will be making official visits that weekend register now and give the Compliance Office the SSN’s no later than October 23, 2007

ACC Non-Qualifier Rule A non-qualifier whose first full-time collegiate enrollment occurs at an ACC institution  Is not eligible for practice, competition or athletics aid This includes your walk-ons, tryouts and men’s/women’s practice players. If you have a have a student that makes your team, they will be required to register with the Eligibility Center to determine if they were a qualifier.

ACC Non-Qualifier Rule Two-Year College Transfers  In order to be eligible to practice, compete and receive athletics aid the student-athlete must have: Graduated with an AA degree Satisfactorily competed a minimum of 48 degree transferable hours Achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.0 Attended the two-year college as a full-time student for at least three semesters or four quarters

ACC Non-Qualifier Rule Four-Year College Transfers  In order to be eligible to practice, compete and receive athletics aid, the student-athlete (in addition to meeting all NCAA rules) must have: Satisfactorily competed a minimum of 48 degree transferable hours Achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.0 Attended the four-year college as a full-time student for at least three semesters or four quarters  Student-athletes eligible for the one-time transfer exception will need to be deemed qualifiers if transferring after their first year of enrollment
