3 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote 2014-2 Recruiting – Contact at Competition Site A coach may contact a PSA at any site on a day or days of competition provided the PSA has signed a NLI or written offer of admission and/or athletically related financial aid with the coach’s institution. Effective Date Immediate

4 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote 2014-4 Tryouts for High School PSAs June 15th preceding a PSA’s junior year a coach may tryout a PSA any time outside his/her traditional playing season. Traditional playing season starts with the PSA’s first official team practice. Effective Date 6/15/14

5 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote 2014-7 Awards, Benefits and Expenses for Enrolled SA Institution may pay for SA to attend an all- star event after exhausting eligibility. Effective date 8/1/14

6 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote 2014-3 Recruiting – Advertisements – Nonathletic Institutional Advertisement Institution may place nonathletic institutional advertisements in a high school and/or a 2 year college publication. Effective Date 8/1/14

7 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014-9 Amateurism- Promotional Activities – Modeling & Other Nonathletically Related Promotional Activities A SA may accept remuneration for or permit the use of his/her name or picture to advertise the sale or use of a commercial product, provided pay is not based on athletics ability or reputation in any way. Effective Date 8/1/14

8 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014-12 Playing Seasons-Basketball- Conference Challenge In basketball, to permit a maximum of two contests played as part of a conference challenge event to be exempted annually from the maximum number of contest limitations. Effective Date August 1, 2014

9 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014-13 Playing and Practice Seasons - Summer Vacation Period Beginning June 1 to the conclusion of the college's summer vacation period, Strength & Conditioning can design and conduct workouts for football SAs. The workouts must be voluntary. Effective Date 6/1/14

10 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014-15 (No 2-12) Path to Grad-Freshman Qualifier scale – 3.3 to 2.2 – 400 to 840 above – 37 to 70 above PQ scale – 3.050 above to 2.000 – 400 to 820 above – 68 above Nonqualifier – Must sit a year in residence, not compete, not practice, & not receive athletic aid Effective date Aug 1 2018

12 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014-18 (No 2-15) Path to Grad-PTD-Annual credit hours 24 Progress toward degree determined by institution Yr one earn 24 hours earned toward any degree Yr two earn 48 hours earned toward any degree Yr three earn 24 hours earned toward SA designated degree Yr four earn 24 hours earned toward SA designated degree Averaging Method for first two years Effective date Aug 1 2016

13 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014-19 (No 2-16) Path to Grad- Transfer Regulations-2 Yr Two Yr college transfers SA graduates from 2 yr college Must earn 25% of college credit from the two-year that awards the degree Application: SA never attended a 4 Yr college as a full time student, then any two- year college shall be considered. Qualifiers - Attended a Two college (No Four Year Attendance) Attend 1 term Average 12 hours per term 2.2 GPA cumulative PE Activity Courses No more than 2 hours. However a PE major use minimum number to meet requirements Qualifiers who do not meet requirements may practice and receive athletic grant

14 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote All other Qualifiers, PQ and Nonqualifiers Must attend the Two-Year college for 2 terms Earn 12 transferable hours per term Earn 6 hours English Earn 3 hours Math Earn 3 hours Science 2.2 GPA in all transferable hours Application: SA never attended a 4-Year college as a full time student, then any two-year college shall be considered. SA attended a 4-Year college as a full time student, then only the credits earned at the two-year college after the last full-time enrollment at four-year shall be considered. For a SA who meets all the two-year transfer requirements EXCEPT the 2.20 GPA, the SA is eligible for practice and financial aid. Effective Date August 1, 2016

15 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014-20 (No 2-8) Recruiting - Official & Unofficial Visits  May not pay any leg of a camp visit in conjunction with Official Visit.  No complimentary passes to conference tourney.  Permit actual cost of meals on Official visit. Old rule $30 max.  Unofficial visits coach is allowed one meal within locale of college.  Unofficial visits coach can arrange special parking.  Official Visit still 48 hours the same Effective Date June 15, 2014

16 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014- 21 (No 2-9) Recruiting - Official Visit - Permissible Timing & Requirements No official visit provided earlier than June 15th preceding PSA’s Junior Year in high school  PSA must present a current transcript in place of test score,  PSA registers with the Eligibility Center;  Coach must place the PSA on the institution’s request list (IRL) with the Eligibility Center. Effective Date June 15, 2014

17 2014 NCAA Convention Legislative Vote No 2014-23 (No 2-23) Championships/Postseason Events- SA Eligibility- Ineligibility due to Banned Drug Test- Duration- Street Drugs If a SA test positive for a “Street Drug” he/she will be withheld from the next 50% of the season of competition in all sports. When the SA retest negative then eligibility will be restored by the Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement. Reason for change- Retain SA which will allow the SA to work with campus intervention (education, counseling and/or treatment) to correct behavior and return to competition. Effective Date August 1, 2014
