Add charges- 1st one is +, 2nd one is - 5. Make sure the charges match the expected charges in the PT or PAL. 6. Write the name. Metal stays the same, nonmetal drops its ending and adds -ide. For transition metals, change the charge to roman numerals, place in parentheses following the metal name. [Fe 2+ would change to Iron (II) ]
