College Level Examination Program Idaho November 2014

College Level Examination Program A credit-by-examination program that validates and translates a student’s knowledge into college credit.  Over seven million exams taken since 1967  176,000+ exams administered in  Over 56,000 exams administered to military service members  Over 1,700 colleges and test centers administer CLEP  2,900 colleges grant credit for CLEP exam  CLEP Exam fee is $80

 Structure  33 computer-based exams  Primarily multiple-choice and essays. Listening sections for foreign languages  Most are approximately 90 minutes in length  Scoring  Immediate score reports (except exams with essays).  Exams are scored on a scale of 20–80. A score of 50 is equivalent to a grade of C  “Right-only” scoring (no penalty for wrong answers)  Student must wait 3 months to retest CLEP - Structure and Scoring
