BORN OF WATER AND SPIRIT SALVATION Explaining Col. 1:13-14 SIN - Enslaves all accountable persons in a state of darkness (Romans 3:23; 6:23) JESUS’ BLOOD - Frees persons from the bondage of sin (Revelation 1:5) JESUS’ KINGDOM - Persons whose sins are cleansed by Jesus’ blood are transferred by God into Jesus’ kingdom (called “church” in Acts 2:37-47)

To be born again (of water and Spirit) is to enter the kingdom of God, John 3:3, 5 To gladly receive God’s word, repent and be baptized, is to be added by the Lord to the church, Acts 2:38, 41, 47 (which is the kingdom, Matt. 16:18-19) To be baptized scripturally, is to be baptized into the body of Christ, the church, 1 Cor. 12:13 (Eph. 1:22-23) To be redeemed by Jesus’ blood is to be translated by God into Jesus’ kingdom, Col. 1:13

If you were baptized, were you BORN OF WATER AND SPIRIT? Were you baptized… As a Christian to show you were saved? Or - as a non Christian in order to do away with the old man of sin and rise out of the water a new Christian? Romans 6:4, 6 “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism…that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away.”

Were you baptized… After you waited a few weeks when you could be baptized with some other Christians? Or IMMEDIATELY! As soon as you realized you were a lost non-Christian Acts 16:33 “And immediately he and all his family were baptized.”

“…they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” If you were baptized with the wrong baptism… then be baptized right NOW! Acts 19:1-5 After John’s disciples heard from Paul that they were not baptized with the right baptism… “…they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

If you have NOT been baptized or baptized correctly, then… BORN OF WATER AND SPIRIT If you have NOT been baptized or baptized correctly, then… “…why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” - Acts 22:16
