QUESTIONS SEEKERS ASK

Baptism is contact with the death/blood of Christ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23 ESV) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 ESV)

Baptism is contact with the death/blood of Christ Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood. For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” (Hebrews 9:18-20 ESV)

Baptism is contact with the death/blood of Christ Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. (Hebrews 9:22 ESV) for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. (Hebrews 9:26 ESV)

Baptism is contact with the death/blood of Christ Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. (Romans 6:3-5 ESV)

Baptism is contact with the death/blood of Christ We are baptized into His death, so we are… United with Him in covenant, Given a new life in Him with forgiveness. Now, what about those who are not baptized?

Baptism is the New Birth Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:3-5 ESV

Baptism is the New Birth Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, (Ephesians 5:25-26 ESV) he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, (Titus 3:5 ESV)

Baptism is the New Birth Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (1 Peter 3:21 ESV)

Baptism is God’s “line in the sand” Acts 19- When was Paul saved from his sin? 1. When he saw Jesus? No. 2. When he prayed? No. 3. When he repented? No. Acts 22:16 - And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’

Baptism is the Bible Way to Get into Christ Pray into Jesus Come forward… Lay on hands… Pray sinners prayer For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Galatians 3:27 ESV)

Baptism is the New Covenant symbol of a new life, united with Christ And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John's baptism.” And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. (Acts 19:1-5 ESV)

Baptism is the New Covenant symbol of a new life, united with Christ New life New birth Forgiveness Covenant relationship
