The New Naturalism From Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle

Directions At the time Upton Sinclair was writing The Jungle, a new literary movement known as naturalism was appearing in America. Emanating from France, its primary characteristics were outlined by Vernon L Parrington in The Beginnings of Critical Realism in America. Using Parrington’s outline below, indicate in the spaces following each item how far you believe Sinclair’s The Jungle fits the definition of naturalism.

Directions Open up the linked inspiration document and create a new web that supports the 7 levels of the outline of Naturalism. You may use paraphrases or direct quotes from your text. This printed web will be the basis for a paper you will write. Word Template
