First Marine Board Forum First Marine Board Forum 15 May 2008 – Oostende (Belgium) Food for thought… Is the “Integrated Maritime Policy for the EU” sufficiently outward looking ? Is there a plan for the long-term archival and preservation of data in the EU? Is the medium-term project based approach leading to long-term stable systems and infrastructures in the EU? Is there a long-term vision on data and information management in the EU? Is data management sufficiently entrenched in the marine science and observation research community? –Is data management education included in the University curriculum?
