KEY ACHIEVEMENTS Business Coalitions have bought HIV awareness and education to over 25,000 workplaces and more than 5 million workers, many in vulnerable industries. They have been the main voice of the private sector promoting best practice workplace policy, education and fighting discrimination and prejudice.

© 2014 Chevron Fighting AIDS 21  Fighting AIDS is core to the success of Chevron’s business.  Since 1986, Chevron has been at the forefront among companies joined in the fight against AIDS.  In 2005, Chevron was the first oil and gas company to institute a global HIV / AIDS Policy for employees.  In Angola and Nigeria, Chevron implements voluntary internal prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) programs.  In 2011, Chevron pledged $20 million to the UN’s mission to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV by 2015.

© 2014 Chevron Chevron’s Social Investments - HIV / AIDS Programs 22 Name Chevron actions…and the results Born Free Africa Nigeria  Partnership with the Nigerian Government, The Global Fund, PEPFAR  Support the Nasarawa state government’s efforts to reduce HIV transmission  Number of health facilities with PMTCT services – increased by 110%  Number of pregnant women counseled and tested for HIV – increased by 150%  May 2013, committed to additional $1.3 million over three years PROMOT Project Nigeria  Partnership with Pact in Bayelsa state, Nigeria  Established a community-based, government supported PMTCT outreach program to increase awareness and services to support HIV positive pregnant women  8 community-based organizations trained  313 community health extension workers trained  Outreach population – 19,625 individuals  15,755 pregnant women counselled and tested for HIV SHINE in Myanmar  Since 2004, solely funded the Sustainable Health Improvement and Empowerment (SHINE) program in the Dry Zone region  Partner with PACT to reduce disease; especially Tuberculosis, HIV and malaria  May 2014, signed a Public Private Partnership agreement with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and PACT Myanmar to launch Phase II of SHINE program  A 3-year project focused on women’s economic empowerment. Focus on maternal, new born and child health, diseases, water and sanitation. Cost - $3 million.  Over the past decade, the lives of more that 900,000 citizens in 1,500 villages have been positively impacted  By 2017, Shine II expected to help improve the lives of 160,000 people in 310 villages  Shine II will double, to 80%, the proportion of pregnant women in target villages that give birth with skilled birth attendants

© 2014 Chevron 23 Name Chevron actions…and the results Partnership for Health in Our Communities Asia Pacific  Bangladesh – funding on skills-based training and maternal and child health services  Cambodia – Women’s Empowerment and Health Promotion project  China – Children’s immunization, disaster emergency grant, injury prevention  Philippines – donation of $1.5 million to the Philippine Red Cross  Thailand – injury prevention and employment opportunities, HIV/AIDs programs for youths  Vietnam – children’s education, HIV / AIDS and diseases program / job skills training for women The Global Fund  January 2008, Chevron became The Global Fund’s inaugural Corporate Champion  Committed $30 million to support AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria programs in Asia and Africa  2010, additional commitment of $25 million to fight HIV / AIDS and PMTCT in Angola, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam  Dec 2013, pledged an additional $5 million to support PMTCT services in Nigeria. Total investment - $60 million.  To date, Chevron has contributed in saving 8.7 million lives through The Global Fund.
