DAVID DIDAU  Do you find repeated mistakes?  Is most of it ignored?  Do you use empty phrases?  Is it an albatross around your neck?!

HOW CAN YOU MAKE YOUR MARKING PURPOSEFUL?  Dialogue: instead of making comments, ask questions.  Find faults and fix: focus on presentation and give students time to proof-read. If it’s sloppy or careless, they do it again.  Marking is planning: your marking should create your lesson activities.  Marking is differentiation: specific challenges and tasks to suit that child’s ability.  Time savers: create a code or only focus on a particular AO. Students could even highlight particular bits they want you to look at.
