1 The decision tree asks the same questions as the Nevada Protocol form, and allows a person to easily walk through the sequence of questions for coding purposes. For all children, the begin with the question: Does the child attend any regular early childhood program? *Remember that this includes within the school day/IEP services and beyond the school day and could be interpreted as ‘does the child EVER attend any regular early childhood program’. Follow the arrows as you move through the questions. Let’s follow the path for “YES”… read through the slide, commenting on the yellow boxes. Now, beginning again at the starting question for all children “Is the child attending a regular early childhood program?” let’s follow the ‘no’ path: Read through the boxes. Not the boxes that provide definitions
