Self Esteem Health Education Housing Access to Services Sense of Identity Safety and Security Employment Financial Support SHEHASSEFSHEHASSEF Needs of Youth

For two groups you have studied, assess the extent to which community structures assist in resolving conflict between the group and the wider society. Focus Question

Conflict How do stereotypes lead to conflict between youth and society? I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem. When is the world going to realize that we know everything? I can please only one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow isn't looking good, either.

Community Structures

Assess Community Structures Structures that may help How it assists How well it assists e.g. Skate parkIt gives young people a place to go and an activity to do to keep them occupied. They are being active and having fun whilst hanging out with their friends. This may help them to stay out of trouble because they are active. Skate parks do a good job in keeping young people from being bored, which is when they are more likely to get into trouble. It is a place where they are able to socialize and spend time with friends, minimising boredom. However, students may truant school to hang out there, graffiti and can be a place where trouble makers hang out. Conflict – young people cause trouble because they are bored.
