Facilities in our area Good evening. My name is Holly Blount and I am Adam Hames members of St. Bartholomew’s church of England School, School Council and Junior Best representatives. We have more representatives*

THE AIM OF JUNIOR BEST The aim of Junior BEST is to make sure that the children and young people from all the schools in the development group have regular input and shape the development of Extended Services.

At Junior BEST we were given a mission…… To find out what local facilities children in our school wanted. We asked the whole school for their views. We sent a questionnaire to each class in the school. We consulted with thirteen classes, each class filled in the questionnaire. These were the four main choices:

The four main choices in our school: 1. Graffiti Board, we can take our own paints and do graffiti legally. 2. Skate Park and lessons, improvements to the skate park to include good lighting and security and a safe environment also an organised club so you can skate properly. 3. A secure and safe play area undercover open at all times when adults are shopping in Quorn. 4. Dancing Hall, open to everyone who would like to learn how to dance in different ways. This hall could also be used for many other activities.

Dragons Den Style

We presented the mission to the school in an assembly Our voice, our choice Questionnaires hand out Results of the questionnaire

Analysing the questionnaire School council. Graffiti. Bollywood dancing. Filming and animation. Our four choices were then sent to Julie Crookes. We hope they will be heard and acted upon. Our Voice our Choice!!!

What extended activities would you like in your school?

You will decide as a school what two creative activities you would like to take part in. WHAT ARE WE DOING! We are going round each KS2 classroom and putting in a ballot box. The next day we will collect the boxes and count up the votes. Once we have counted up the votes we see which 2 activities are the most popular. We will also give you the opportunity to vote on the VLE. We will then arrange a taster session during school. You will decide as a school what two creative activities you would like to take part in.
