 Location: Lurie Cancer Northwestern Univ.  Placement in Cancer Research Labs  Weekly seminars on cancer basics, treatment, & research  Students prepare an abstract & PPT presentation  8 week program, $3000 stipend, housing included  Eligibility : College student, pursuing a science major, economically disadvantaged or underrepresented minority  DEADLINE: MARCH 31

 Hands on research experience in a variety of fields (e.g. biochemistry, bioengineering, immunology etc)  Can apply to any of AMGEN’s host universities  Each host university has 25 AMGEN scholars, very selective  Eligibility : College sophomore, junior, or non- graduating senior, U.S. citizen or permanent resident, GPA of 3.2 and above, Interest in pursuing a PhD or MD-PhD  DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 2

 Location: Amherst College!  10 week PAID Summer Research Fellowship  Research topics include: Biomimetic Materials, Environmental Science, Fluorescence as a Biological and Biophysical Probe, Neural Plasticity, or Physics/Physical Chemistry  Stipend: ~$3000, 1 meal/day & housing covered  Eligibility: Freshman or sophomore considering a career in science  Deadline: Late February 2010
