#1 Steer clear of Folly Avoiding OOPSes

THE FOOL: 1. is governed by feelings and desires Proverbs 13:16 Every prudent man acts out of knowledge, but a fool exposes his folly. Proverbs 21:20 In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. 2. doesn’t listen to others Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice. Proverbs 18:2 A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions. 3. won’t take correction and doesn’t learn from mistakes Proverbs 17:10 A rebuke impresses a man of discernment more than a hundred lashes a fool.

WISDOM: 1. God is the source, look to Him Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 2. Fear God Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 3. Ask James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

WISDOM: 4. Get to Know God’s Word Psalm 119: Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. 5. Get to know Jesus Colossians2:3 Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
