 Demonstrative Adjectives must agree in gender and number with the object they are describing.  este vestido – this dress  esta camisa – this shirt  estos pantalones – these pants  estas bolsas – these purses  ese sombrero – that hat  esa blusa – that blouse  esos zapatos – those shoes  esas chaquetas – those jackets

 You may forget which demonstrative adjectives are used for things that are close and which are used for things that are farther away.  The words that contain the letter “ t ” (este, esta, estos, estas) are the ones used that are close enough to touch.

 Demonstrative adjectives:  ¿Te gusta este vestido? Do you like this dress.  Me gusta mas esa falda. I like that skirt more.  Comparisons  Esta camiseta es mas bonita que esa camiseta.  This t-shirt is prettier than that t-shirt.

 These adjectives have irregular comparative forms. Bueno(a) Mejor(es) Good better Malo(a) Peor(es) Bad worse Joven Menor(es) Young younger Viejo(a) Mayor(es) Old older

 Use mas que, menos que, and tanto como to say if someone does something more than, less than, or as much as someone else.  Eliza compra tanto como Isabel.  Eliza buys as much as Isabel.  Mis padres salen menos que mis abuelitos.  My parents go out more than my grandparents.
