evBO/UB OJT versus Apprenticeship Sustainable improvement of the employment situation of special education school leavers

From Project in 2007 to a Fully Funded Program in 2009 Federal Employment Office Bavarian State Ministry of Labor, Family, Women and Social Affairs Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture

Target Group Special education school leavers with intellectual challenges who would - without support from evBO/UB - transfer to a sheltered workshop after finishing school

Course of Action „School to Work“ UB 12th Grade UB 12th Grade evBO 11th Grade evBO 11th Grade Post school year

Prerequisites for Participation evBO 11th Grade Motivation of the pupil Willingness of the pupil: To leave his/her peer group, tolerate failure, readiness to go to considerable length Mobility (possibly with support) Parental backing

September – December evBO Teachers distribute information to pupils and their parents Decision by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture Initial visit of at the school

January – August evBO Diagnosis Orientation work placement Review First job assessment
