Amber Nicole March 18, 2009

Writing I am practicing to be more descriptive in my writing. I’m very proud of this writing because I think it is very detailed. This is an essay that I wrote about my favorite activity.

Math This is a multiplication and division test that I took recently. I’m feeling good about multiplication but I am still working on the standard algorithm for division. This is a fourth grade WASL assessment that I took.

Reading For independent reading last month I got two snowflakes which means I finished two books. I have four so far this month. I was in a reading group and we read a book called Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie and once we were finished with the book we wrote a letter for it. Here is a reading assessment about bones that we took recently. I feel like I did a good job on this assessment.

Science Here are some experiments that we have done so far this year. Here are some types of erosion that we have learned about.

Social Studies This year we have been learning about the Oregon Trail. We have been doing something called a story path. One of the most interesting things I have learned about the Oregon Trail is a disease called Cholera.

Projects I am very good at setting reading goals independently. I am good at doing a ten minute timing and I always remember to write down the pages that I’ve read and how long I read. I work good in any kind of group. I contribute ideas and I cooperate. One way we use technology in the classroom is the clicker quiz. Another way we use technology is on power point. For example, our explorer projects.explorer projects.

Music In music we have been playing the xylophone. We have learned new songs such as crunchy, 2-3, clave, etc. Music connects to math because you have to count the number of beats in a measure. Here is a video of us playing crunchy.

Goals I have two goals that I want to complete by the end of the year. My first goal is to work on reading more. My second goal is to work on being more descriptive in my writing.

End One way you can help me is to encourage me to read more. Thank you for coming! I love you!!!
