Espeed Bump Espeed Bump Chen Guey Erl, Tiw Mei Chin Let ‘s build a sustainable future

it is only through the ability to share and promote innovation that we can tackle the environmental issues facing us Let ‘s build a sustainable future

Key Messages Let ‘s build a sustainable future Energy efficiency is a global issue with significant impact today- and will have an even greater impact in the future The electricity supply for the working of various appliances– rising cost and energy drive the need for a new approach The focus now is shifting more and more towards the renewable sources of energy, which are essentially, non polluting. The number of vehicles passing over the speed breaker in roads is increasing day by day- let it be a power generation unit. Our project is to develop an alternative green source of energy by moving vehicles on the road ways.

Data source : International Energy Outlook 2013, OECD Let ‘s build a sustainable future

Espeed Bump Let ‘s build a sustainable future

Electricity generation from Espeed Bump mechanism Let ‘s build a sustainable future A connecting rod is used to connecting rod is connected with speed breaker -crankshaft. So whenever the vehicle is going on the speed breaker, the speed breaker goes downwards which cause the connecting rod to rotate the crankshaft. Further the crankshaft rotates the shaft of the generator which causes the producing of electricity. The generated electricity saves on the battery storage unit which we can used to light the street lights, signals lights and more

Block Diagram Of Generation From Speed Bump Let ‘s build a sustainable future Speed Bump Arrange ment Espeed Bump Generat or Battery Street light/ traffic light

Advantages Let ‘s build a sustainable future Low Budget electricity production less floor area no obstruction to traffic easy maintenance suitable at parking of multiplexes malls and toll booths, etc K.L, SELANGOR Provide electricity, etc Charging batteries and using them to light up the streets, etc.

Disadvantages Let ‘s build a sustainable future It is less amount power generator it is not continues generating power maintain cost is high more wear & tear. Performance not suitable

Future Factors Let ‘s build a sustainable future Mandatory policies by governments Green environments and reduce pollution Penang state, 1 st green city in malaysia The lack of energy resources Regular demand of energy Fossil fuel, petroleum non-renewable energy New approach New technology Research and development, clean, efficient and decentralized energy Build a sustainable future
