Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan(CCIP) Training Module 1 General System Functions

Agenda System Goals System Prerequisites Functional Overview Notifications Accessing the Site Creating Users & Roles CCIP Training Module 12

System Goals Reduce the administrative burden placed on Local Education Agencies (LEAs) when applying for grant funding. Increase transparency of grant activities to ensure funds are spent in accordance with federal and state guidelines. One project that will consolidate the planning and application process to reduce duplication of information across the state. CCIP Training Module 13

System Prerequisites Internet Access – Today we will be using the Training database cciptest.schools.nc.gov/training Using current data and budgets What happens in Training, stays in Training! Recommended Browsers – IE v7.0 or above – Firefox v2.0 or above – Safari – GOOGLE Chrome Valid NCID User ID – This does not allow automatic entry into CCIP CCIP Training Module 14

Functional Overview CCIP Training Module 1 AUTHORITATIVE DATA SOURCES 5 For Title I Building Eligibility

Accessing CCIP In order to edit or approve applications in the system you Must have a valid NCID user account and be “known” To CCIP. To become “known”, you must contact your organization’s User Access Administrator (in LEAs, historically, the Title I Funding Application contact) and provide your NCID user ID so the appropriate roles can be assigned. Public Access: The application allows anyone to visit the site and view Approved applications without a login. Please remember that you must have a valid NCID user ID and be given the appropriate access to make edits, start budget revisions, and make submissions for approval. CCIP Training Module 16

NCCCIP Sign In Click the NCCCIP Sign In button at the bottom left of the CCIP home page. CCIP Training Module 17

NCCCIP Sign In Enter your NCID User ID and NCID Password and click Submit. Having a valid NCID does not automatically gain you entry into CCIP, you must be assigned a role in CCIP CCIP Training Module 18

9 Home Screen Once signed in, the application populates the system with your associated LEA.

CCIP Roles CCIP Training Module 116 Role NameDescription User Access Administrator Allows the user to create, update, and delete users/roles for an organization. This role does not give the user any access to edit the Funding Application or Planning Tool. Data ViewAllows the user to view unapproved Funding Applications for an organization. This would be an appropriate role for the Homeless Liaison. “Look, but don’t touch” Data EntryAllows the user to edit the Funding Application for an organization. Planning Tool Data Entry Allows the user to edit the Active Plan for an organization. Fiscal Representative Allows the user to mark an application Fiscal Representative Approved and inherits all permissions from the Data Entry role. Chief Administrator Allows the user to mark an application Chief Administrator Approved and inherits all permissions from the Data Entry role. Only role that can copy a Plan forward.

Administer Roles Once a role has been added you will be redirected to the Administer Roles page, displaying all of the selected user’s roles. To remove a role, click the trash can icon directly right of the role. To add additional roles, repeat steps from previous slides. CCIP Training Module 117

Modify Existing User To modify an existing user, fill in at least one of the search criteria boxes, and click the Search button. To modify one of the search results click on the Edit link under the Administer Roles column next to the appropriate user. CCIP Training Module 118
