CHRIST MAS ooo its Christmas I’m ready

CHRIST MAS Have you ever heard anyone oh no I haven't finished praying or praising yet I haven't read enough of the bible yet What is Christmas the clue is in the way I’ve written the title CHRIST mas We are supposes to be celebrating the birth of Christ and surly if we are Christians we should be ready at all times Luke ch 2:8 -20

CHRISTMAS And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests.”

CHRISTMAS When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

CHRISTMAS How did the shepherds respond did they rush about Baking Shopping putting up decorations No Shepherds in those days were the lowest of the low

CHRISTMAS Who else was there the Magi wise men three kings Do you remember the year Nathan (Joseph) was singing love songs to Ida (Mary) Whether you follow a star or Pastor Angela or your spouse best friend or worst enemy or anyone else does not matter what is important is you get there then you do the right thing just like the wise men Mat 2:11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

CHRISTMAS The wise men would have travelled 20 miles per day max 5 days between water points so all most certainly would have had to go via Jerusalem to get to Bethlehem I believe it was God’s plan because he knew what was going to happen 33 years later

CHRISTMAS Here we are 2000 years later celebrating Jesus’ birthday WHY Because of Easter How How do you celebrate your birthday

CHRISTMAS Jn 17: “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
