Who is MOBY?

Born 1965 in New York Music influenced by whole range of styles- Blues/Classical/Gospel/Punk etc Vegan & Christian Use of sampling common in his music PLAY – the album of 1999 heavily influenced by dance styles

Why is this track so popular? Even if you had never heard of MOBY before you started studying this a ,lot of you will recognise his music. The album PLAY was praised widely WHAT MAKES IT POPULAR? Use of interesting samples Catchy chord sequence and melodies Easy to dance to Well structured

MOBY wanted his music to have a raw authentic sound so he deliberately left the background noise on the vocal samples untouched. Although his music relies on technology he aimed for a human element which he felt the background noise gave it
