A Game Warden ‘s job is similar to a cop, carrying a weapon is an integral part of the job. They serve warrants, make arrests, and issues citations. They travel by boat, car, truck, horse, or foot. They patrol a specific area to ensure everyone is abiding the laws and regulations of hunting and fishing. They also report how the fish and wildlife are doing in their habitat. This is an outdoors job so if you hate being outside I don’t recommend it for you.

There are many game wardens in every state so therefore there is no telling where exactly I would start off at. From what I know so far, relocation is very likely to happen. There is a slight chance that I could work as a game warden locally. I would probably have to go south and start off in Miami then make my way back up here.

Applicants must have successfully completed a Bachelors level degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Natural Resource Conservation, Environmental Science, Fish and Wildlife Management, Parks and Recreation, Criminal Justice, or other closely related field of resource conservation and management. The degree must be awarded just before the starting date of the Cadet Class.

Starting off as a game warden you don’t need to expect much pay. A low income is around $28,300 a year. The medium average pay a year is $43,700. A high income for a game warden is $62,300.

Intangible rewards is a part of your job that makes you feel good. For a game warden that would be: stopping poachers, helping animals, and keeping a safe environment.
